Interaction Designer

If you are a world-class Interaction Designer, we want to talk to you. Help us develop an interactive video player and website that entices, educates and keeps people coming back.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design effort to create a compelling, easy-to-use GUI for an interactive video player and our next-generation website.
• Aid in developing the user model and feature set across all aspects of the product, tools, and web pages.
• Create high level and detailed storyboards, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.

• A minimum of five years of experience with interface design for interactive consumer web products.
• Broad and deep aesthetic range and visual sense.
• Expertise with at least 2 of the following prototyping tools: Adobe Fireworks, Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Flash, HTML/DHTML/CSS, JavaScript.
• Academic background in human-computer interaction or related field a big plus.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Frontend/UI Engineer

Outstanding UI engineer wanted! Help us develop a website that entices, educates and keeps people coming back. We seek an experienced engineer to design and develop the website front end. The developer will collaborate with our interaction designer & product manager to develop the customer experience. The website will be highly dynamic and interactive.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize cross-platform front-end code in CSS/HTML, JavaScript and AJAX.
• Integrate designer-provided look-and-feel elements
• Develop and maintain internal user interface frameworks and libraries
• Maintain a tight working relationship with members of the development team so all aspects of the front and back-end of the website are thoroughly understood

• 2-6 years of web development experience using CSS, HTML/XHTML, Ajax/JavaScript, YUI, W3C DOM methods & properties
• Familiarity with JavaScript/AJAX/Flash frameworks and libraries such as Prototype, Dojo. Framework/library design, implementation, and maintenance experience a plus.
• Expertise with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & Fireworks.
• LAMP development (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) on Linux a big plus.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Flash / Flex Engineer

Graspr is seeking a talented and motivated candidate, excited about developing state-of-the-art, web-based tools for an ambitious startup company. The right candidate will have extensive experience building applications using Adobe’s Flash technologies. This is a unique opportunity to work in a small team that’s defining a new business category in social learning!

The ideal candidate will have a solid engineering background and understanding of creating modular, reusable code using principles of software design.

• Strong skills developing highly responsive Adobe Flash/Flex based applications
• Excellent command of ActionScript 2.0, and ActionScript 3.0 desirable
• Experience with XML parsing and dynamically driven content
• Strong programming skills.
• Background in software/computer engineering as demonstrated by a BS in CE or CS, or comparable experience.
• 3-4 years professional experience in a small team environment.
• Strong portfolio that includes numerous examples of advanced Flash skills.
• Experience with database integration, Flash Remoting and Flex/MXML is a big plus
• Experience with Flash media server is a big plus
• Experience building and deploying C/C++ or Java applications is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute product positioning and go-to-market plans to increase user awareness, acquisition and engagement.
• Provide input on product design. Identify strategic business and partnership opportunities.
• Define and execute site content and marketing communications strategies that are measurable, compelling and consistent.
• Craft and edit site content/marketing copy including headlines, product descriptions, blogs, and other online communications materials. Ensure product message clarity and cohesiveness.
