GRASPR ANNOUNCES FUNDING AND FEATURES DFJ invests in Series A MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIFORNIA, July 10, 2008: Today Graspr (www.graspr.com), the instructional video network, announced that it has raised $2.5 million in Series A funding from Draper Fisher Jurvetson and angel investors. Additionally, Graspr is the first instructional video site to launch of a syndication platform and online video editor, designed to help instructional video producers easily edit, promote, track, distribute and market their videos, as well as share in the advertising dollars that are generated around those videos. With such Graspr also launched its affiliate network which rewards referrals from producers and publishers within the Graspr network with a lifetime share in revenues generated around the video content they feature or produce. “We are delighted to announce DFJ as our investment partner as they have a great track record of backing innovative media and technology businesses,” said Teresa Phillips, founder and CEO of Graspr. “With this investment, we will roll out our worldwide syndication network and continue to provide both users and creators of instructional videos with the best tools to showcase and discover this useful content.” “With Graspr, there is a great opportunity to create a new network that leverages the power of video to help people share what they know, with people who want to know,” said Tim Draper, founder and Managing Director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson. “And by putting syndication at the heart of Graspr, the ability to promote, distribute and monetize instructional video content is easier than ever.” Graspr is the only site where learners, users, and creators of videos can edit, watch, collaborate on, and syndicate to make money from instructional videos. Since launch in September 2007, Graspr has sourced and filtered over 20,000 high-quality instructional videos from leading producers and experts across major lifestyle markets. With the release of these new features, Graspr enables creators to upload multiple videos simultaneously, easily edit them online, and immediately make them available for worldwide syndication. Advanced tagging capabilities and built-in search engine optimization also enable all videos in the Graspr network to be easier to discover. Graspr’s proprietary video player streams collections of videos, lets viewers jump to different scenes within a video, play in slow motion, add a note within the video, or add an attachment. Members of the Graspr network, which is free to join, earn income in three ways: by uploading and syndicating videos, by embedding videos on their websites or blogs, and by referring new members who subsequently upload or embed videos. The revenue-share model is simple: advertising revenue generated from videos gets shared between the uploader, the embedder, Graspr, and the Graspr member who may have referred the uploader or embedder.
