The Fooles lashing is inspired by the Prusik based Fooles cuff and is a variation of the Texas Handcuff which has been used for fast lashing and appears on the cover of Ashley's Book of Knots (ABOK) This variation doubles the turns making it more suitable for nautical applications such as creating a temporary mast cradle or boom gallows. It can also serve as a sturdy lashing for creating a tripod.
