Part 2 of a series on the Telectro MR511B vintage tape recorder. Note: If you like the music, it is original and you can listen to the full composition at this URL: http://www.clydesight.com/epic In the 1960's the American electronics company, Telectro, was struggling against the Japanese reel to reel tape recorder imports. Their solution was to design and build the highly unusual MR115B portable cassette drive reel to reel tape recorder which had very basic sound quality similar to the Japanese imports. This probably wasn't the wisest choice. Had the amplifier circuit, microphone and speaker been better quality, this machine might have done better in the market. This video, Part II of the series is called: 'Silence of the Reels' and demonstrates the recording and playback sound of the vintage tape recorder. You can easily hear how the vintage electronics of this machine hamper the sound quality and tend to disappoint.
